About Us

Women's Power Charitable Trust

We offer support through awareness programs, empowerment initiatives, and assistance to disadvantaged groups, including women, children, and the elderly.

Women's Power Charitable Trust was founded in 2020 in Tamil Nadu. The NGO has been serving society in sectors of women's empowerment, health, disability, food distribution to the needy, and advocating for children's rights. The NGO has been raising awareness about the legal rights of women and providing training in the preparation of household items, food for elderly homes, and grocery items for needy people. We also provide wheelchairs for disabled people. Furthermore, we run awareness campaigns on government welfare schemes and provide women empowerment by training women for the manufacture of sanitary pads.

Programs

Awareness Campaign on Government Welfare Schemes

Mrs. Mary Julia, Managing Trustee, Women’s Power Trust, explained various central and state government schemes to the women. She highlighted approaches to avail welfare schemes. The program reached out to 412 men and women in Somarasampettai area. 

Wheel Chair donated to Physically Challenged People

The Women’s Power Trust donated wheel chair to physically challenged people worth one lakh. The trust members identified the physically challenged people in the service area. Then they prepare a case study about the person. The board of trust members then decide to donate wheel chair to the person. The person thanked everyone for their effort in running the program.

Inclusive Education Program

This program aims to advocate for the integration of physically challenged students in schools and colleges. These campaigns involve conducting workshops for educators to equip them with the skills and knowledge needed to support inclusive classrooms effectively. Additionally, the distribution of inclusive teaching materials ensures that educators have the necessary resources to cater to diverse learning needs. To foster a supportive environment, these campaigns also include efforts to raise awareness among students and parents, emphasizing the importance of inclusivity and understanding. By engaging all stakeholders, inclusive education campaigns strive to create an educational landscape where every student has the opportunity to thrive.

Diwali Gifts Distribution at Fathima Nagar, Sethurapatti Village

Free Food Distribution for the Poor Community

The event focused on providing essential food supplies to those in need, promoting food security and enhancing community well-being. Beneficiaries were registered, with details carefully verified to ensure the aid reached those most in need. This process was streamlined through collaboration with local leaders and pre-organized beneficiary lists. To maintain efficiency and order, food packets were assembled in advance, with volunteers managing designated stations for each type of food item. Additionally, informational leaflets on nutrition, hygiene, and available social services were distributed to offer further support.

Food Kits Distribution

Every month on the 10th, the NGO distributes essential groceries, including oil, grains, pulses, and daily necessities such as soap and masks, to those in need. Approximately 50 individuals benefit from each distribution, with a total of around 1,000 people having received support through this ongoing program to date.

Awareness Campaign on Empowering Civil Society Organisation

Mrs. Mary Julia, Managing Trustee of Women’s Power Trust, led an informative session highlighting various central and state government schemes aimed at empowering women. She explained how to access these schemes, along with practical approaches and methods for utilizing them effectively. The campaign saw active participation from 99 women, all eager to learn and apply this knowledge for their benefit and that of their communities.

Republic Day Function

The Women’s Power Trust celebrated this day in the target area. During the occasion, flag hoisting ceremony, special talks, sweet distribution and tree plantation drive were conducted. The Members of the Panchayat Council and ward participated. On behalf of 74th Republic day, women, including one hundred and twenty five people, participated. The members of Women’s Power Trust took part in the grama sabha meeting as well to discuss implementation of state and central government welfare schemes.
